Description: Triumph had the luxury of starting from the ground up when designing their new model lineup, and they chose a modular approach to both the engine and chassis--the same basic frame and engine cases drive all their motorcycles. The behemoth of the lineup is the Daytona 1200, a 1180cc, inline-four that boasts high-compression 12:1 cylinder heads and, digital ignition and a six-speed gearbox that pumps out a whopping 85ft-lbs of torque at 8000rpm. The chassis uses a familiar, completely adjustable 43mm conventional fork, with Triumphs high tensile steel frame and an aluminum swingarm. Lop one cylinder (about 26 pounds) off the Daytona 1200, and you've got a $10,995 Daytona 900.
